My Blog’s all new Avatar!

I had plans of designing a new theme for my blog from long enough. But could never find the time to. Finally one day had some spare time, so decided to code the css for the theme. Referred some other themes for the wordpress coding while the wordpress support site was also of great help! Also bought an image from stockexpert, and here it is… my new theme all ready for my blog. I titled it Fire in ‘I’. Probably the only “Indian Wordpress Theme” around.

My earlier theme was the Gespaa Theme by Phu Ly. Had then modified it a bit, but there certainly is a different pleasure in going custom.

New Theme:

I have not yet checked if the theme is fully compatible with earlier versions of wordpress. As I just upgraded mine to the latest release of 2.1 and it works all fine here. Right now there are a few bugs, so making a list to fix them. If you find any bugs or can suggest any usability changes, I will be glad to incorporate them. As I have plans of releasing this theme for public use soon. May be those of you who liked this theme and would like to use it for your blog, can expect it by around the next month.

Do let me know how much Fire is there in this theme! :P

    Thanks for the comments friends…

@ Harsh - Yea I think I will remove those image borders. They look good but mess up with the text. And may be it will give more control also over image presentation to the blogger.

    Keep those suggestions flowing…

Good theme. You can fix up follwoing things…

Right side for links - make right margin to around 15 pixels so this way the mouseover BG color wont come over the BG image.

Top links (tabs) are not properly aligned, bit on left side of the layout. (Checked in Opera) you may want to have it in the main container to fix this issue.

    Regards,
    Deep

Thanks Deep for your suggestions. Good to hear comments from a CSS pro. :)

Well fixed the sidebar thing. Guess released the theme in too much of a hurry and left a few obvious imperfections.

The top navigation tabs… I have used absolute positioning. Hence maybe its a little mis-aligned in resolutions higher than 1024X768. Trying to fix that.

Do this, set left and right margin of that class as auto so this will make the whole thing in center (and yea dont forget to set width as same layout’s so it keeps the stuff in left)
