Mr. Arjun Singh give us a break! |
Post Mumbai Bomb Blasts, my soul feels like yelling out “Give us 48 hours atleast Mr.Arjun Singh!”.
For those who have not got this latest bit of news, this is what our so very dear HRD minister, Mr. Arjun Singh was quoted saying, “Our constitution allows reservations for Muslims, and it is very much possible to have them. But at the moment we have no plans to provide reservations on religion basis.”
Ok fine, we respect our constitution however imperfectly it may have been framed, but is there a real need to talk about this issue in not even 48 hours post the Mumbai Bomb Blasts? Our nation has enough problems to sought out than to really start new ones. If you want to talk about, then please do over the killing of innocent lives in the Mumbai Bomb Blasts. Or is that that, there were no reserved classes in those dead or injured that you only care for? Even after seeing students come out on roads from their classes, sweeping the roads for your government, what more do you want to see Mr. Arjun Singh, what more?
We have seen enough protests by students and faculty for the last few months, over the reservation sytem. Its like, you butter your bread and some else snatches it from you and shamelessly swallows it. We have had enough discussions, forums, communities over this issue, most of which have died down, after every attempt of ours failed to reach the ears of the deaf government. Or may be they have been totally indifferent towards it… as they sought after their own political interests. But when we are forced to hear such comments, it really feels like they are teasing our wounds. Were caste reservations not enough for the government that they now want to prick the public with their new political agenda, for reservations on the basis of religion?
Why cant they let us forget the divisions made in our society? Why cant they let us live like ONE, live like an INDIAN? Why do they want to make us realize that a Hindu is a Hindu and a Muslim a Muslim? I thought diversity in cultures and religions was India’s prime strength, and if it is so, I don’t think these people are ever going to help us for it to be that way. No wonder why America is the super power today. Our Indian Government Policies are probably only followed to Divide and Rule. They will never let us forget the castes and religions.
Its been almost 60 years now that we have achieved freedom. There should be a sure end to this system. Reservations are no good to anybody. It’s like giving a child a milk feeding bottle to suck all his childhood and never let him drink with his own cup of milk…

As if Arjun Singh’s Bomb wasnt enough.
Manmohan Singh has blasted yet another bomb today, with his latest statement “Private companies need to have representation for Dalits and lower castes”.
I dont know know what this government is upto. But they are certainly going to spell doom for this country.
why u linking the arjun singh statement and mumbai blasts???????????no connection here man……….do u mean to say that all ppl now should be talking abt the MUMBAI BLASTS only??????there r other issues to be adressed too……..dont get be wrong in no way do i support arjun singh’s racist policies.
See amit, I definitely do not have the opinion that Mumbai Blasts should be the only issue in discussion, but there certainly are some issues that would be best kept aside during such sesitive times.
As citizens of the country, we optimistically look upto our country’s ruling government. We do not want more sensitive issues to crop up at this stage for sure.
That old guy has gone mad. I seriously feel like giving a heat butt to him (zidane influence ).
Don’t worry people…few more years, and we’ll have a chance to throw this govt. out of power. BJP and Congress have exhausted our options with their rascist and antiquated policies…. Let’s vote Left!
Thousands of coconuts are falling everyday. Millions of other accidents are happening everyday. Why doesn’t any of this happen to the Arjun Singh??
Damn that idiot. He is just making caste and religion sperate themselves so more communal stuffs will take place soon.
There is a \\\’Ekta sabha \\\’ going to be there all over the country on sunday 23rd.
