K…K…K…KBC!!! |
A quiz, a quiz master, contestants, audience, lights, camera and action! Yet you know that something is terribly missing here. Yes very evidently the all-time superstar Amitabh Bachchan. With due credit to what Shah Rukh Khan is, you still can’t help compare The Shehenshah of bollywood and The Badshah of hearts. Though a sorry comparison to get into as both belong to a completely different class.
The show starts off with a somewhat brassy song “Ek sawaal ka hai sawaal” that looks completely out of place for the epitome of Kaun Banega Crorepati. And I was left wondering with probably millions of others with what the hell they have done to the show. Thankfully the same show, the same set, the same haunting sound effects, the same Prasoon Sarkar waiting for a year to complete his game and a little nervous Shah Rukh Khan. Nothing to take away from him, you cannot be perfect at the get set go. But somehow both KBC and SRK seem to have lost the key of the lock and now freezing the audience and the answers.
So what do you miss in Shah Rukh Khan’s version of KBC? You certainly miss the aura of The Big B, Amitabhji’s pure hindi, the grip he has over you, the so passionate and comforting voice he has to the little squeaky voice of Shah Rukh Khan. Still nothing to take away from Shah Rukh, he is known for his presence of mind, smart one liners, wits that can amuse you, which I kinda found missing through the show. His jokes so silly and pre-planned that I couldn’t honour them with a laugh. His excessively excited gestures and a high amplitude voice gives an overly showy feeling to match the class and archetype of the show. He wasnt hosting the show but acting there. Lol! But I am sure, as the show progresses we will see the real Shah Rukh, the King Khan yet once more ruling the hearts of millions.
For my likes, I miss the showman, Amitabh Bachchan, such a professional quiz master. Certainly there is no replacement for him. But if I have put you off from applying to get into the show, nevertheless there is a 2 crore prize money waiting to be claimed and a Shah Rukh Khan massaging you if you are too tensed up and giving you a comfy hug if you decide to quit.

caught the show midway……SRK was good and his oneliners did manage me to smile but no comparison to BIG B……no point in comparing too……..but i feel SRK was the right successor

agree wid u on dat 1.no comparisons to amitabh bacchan. he was simply class apart. might not do much to the trp’s of the show, but will still set the cash registers ringing for the show and the channel what wid people burnin a hole in their mobile and landlines to get a chance at the drinkin frm the holy grail
dude… pls don get me started on this one… well i do believe shah rukh khan has his own style tht captures the crowed in its own way… the massage thing was one of the best feeds on indian television. well but still u r entitled to ur own opinion
Yea, SRK is no replacement to BIG B..
Agree wid u dat he was acting a bit..
But this is his first episode, and he isnt as experienced as Big B was when he started the show, Big B was well in his 50s, and had dat larger dan life image.
SRK doesnt have dat sort of a Image as Big B, But i sure;y believe he’ll realise it when he sees his own tapes, and corrects and adapts himself..
Thay have tried to modernise the show a bit..pretty diff end music also..
Shud have maintained the ‘Lock’ thing, rather ‘Freeze’ of Sawall dus crore ka frm Zee TV..
SRK came across as ignorant person. He was speaking in ridiculous Tamil to a Telugu person. he doesn’t even know difference between Tamil and Telugu. He struggled to pronounce the name of the contestant from Andhra. While Indians were accusing British of racism, its ironic that an Indian could not pronounce the name of his fellow countryman.
SRK wasnt that bad ,i mean he was bad but well he was SRK he had to do what he did.
AMIT uncle is like GOD and SRK is not trying to emulate him. Well he tried but i’ll tell him not to try that in future.
Plus i will there t cheer him from wherever he wants. Farah would come too.

Dude thats a little unfair and not right….its always tough to follow up a hugely hit series…no matter who would have replaced bachchan, there would always be people who liked and disliked it…people dont like change and in this case we all were used to the B…so SRK coming in, im glad hes changed some things and tried to make it his own and not tr to follow up wat was done before…
Its a lttle differen though…it was the aura and the comfort of big B, now its the charm and youthful exuberance of SRK…so we must view both as separate seasons….
Having sadi that, if SRK was the show’s original host and if bacchan had replaced him, then we wouldnt have been confortable with that either cause itl always be different and the world doesnt like change!!!
So enjoy the new show as it is mann and dont compare him with Big B…
(But has some1 noticed this?? Why does he talk like Shatrughan Sinha on the show??? Everything he speaks sounds exactly like him!!!!!If u close ur eyes ul surely think its shotgun hosting the show!!!!Pretty funny this!!)
Comparing the Big B and SRK is so disgusting. They are both at different levels. Its just that Shahrukh was over acting throughout the show. As the newer episodes are unfolding he is becoming more balanced. Check to blogosphere for some reactions on SRK’s first episode of KBC and you will know how much he sucked in that. If Amitabhji was a replacement for SRK I am sure the Big B would still rock. Well anyways things are picking up now. But I do miss Amitabhji :(
Big B’s voice. It’s his amazing voice and mannerism that just beats any competition! And SRK will never be as good as Amitabhji, because the more he tries the more he will fail. He needs to somehow mix in his own style into KBC.

I think Shahrukh is doin fantastic job..Amitabh had to go one day..and best person to take over has to be shahrukh khan.he does speak out all questions in pure hindi.I have indian friends in uk that’r brought up here they cant understand the pure hindi questions but everything else they do.Current show is also for global audience not just within india..and thats taking it world wide..which is great! Now Its a quiz show with the entertainment as well..

SRK and BIG B have thier own styles, don’t compare with each other,Amitabh done well and SRK doing well and entertaining all the viewers with his wit, presence of mind and sense of humour.
