Irritating SMS beeps |
While an SMS beep would infill excitement in you with the thought of your near and dear ones trying to get in touch with you, for me its getting increasingly irritating now. Thanks to the tonnes of messages Idea Cellular sends me all day. Idea Dhamaka…. Gadi jeeto, Sona jeeto… Ek lakh rupaye jeeto… Bollywood quiz… Number collect karo…uh! Can I tell them that I am not interested in making quick money like this? (Or may be lose balance quickly with every call for such offer charged a minimum 6rs!).
All my family members have Idea connection… so imagine how much irritating its getting for all of us.
Hey u know u can block these SMSes!!
I think u have to send an SMS saying Do Not Disturb to 5555 …the sms text is “DND”, I think so…may be u can verify by caling up Idea customer care!!
dnd is on their site also!

Yes, DND will help.
I too had this problem. I registered for DND in their website, but it doesn’t help. But sending a message (here it was DND to 12345) done the trick.
I dont think DND to 5555 will help, as far as i remember 5555 is Nokia’s number, who dont spam anyway !
Dad suffered from the same prob.Told the people in Idea office to stop spamming almost 8-9 times - on phones or even by personally visiting them…..all in vain…..finally they stopped spamming when dad threatened them by filing a case in consumer’s court…:P :P :))
Idea is 10 times better it seems….Reliance is the worst….my friend gets spams even @ 3 AM :P ANd now if u want ur message to be conveyed to the India Public, Reliance can spam for u by accepting a bulky cash..my friend recieved an SMS - ” Agricultural experts required , call Kirti @ 3453434354″. :P :P
