Indian Cricket Team after World Cup 2007

After India has been shown the back door in this world cup, I have been enjoying a lot of funny sms jokes and email forwards on the Indian Cricket Team. Along with me many cricket fans are expressing their grief with comedy. As for the players themselves, they may not find any of it funny.

Here is one email forward that is making rounds on the net… :P

    Hi friend,

I understand the feeling of getting an early outing from worldcup.. but Agression and mock on our Indian Cricket team is getting just wiered all over our country. Really A shameful thing.. What we have lost.. a cricket world cup??

Do you think that is a Big Loss? Cricket is never as Big as a nation..

Take it easy man.. It is just a Game..
We have lots of other thing to do in this country rather than running behind the Cricketers..

There is no point flogging a dead horse.
The indian team will remain the way they are..

The indian team is puppet in the hands of politicians
and business houses. Right from downfall of Ganguly
to Dravid’s captaincy was all planned.

@Bijoy - Buddy, you got me all wrong. I am as much a fan of these guys as you are. I am not one of those who stone their houses, burn their posters, etc. - that is vile, despicable behaviour. I am a cricket rooter… have screamed aloud slogans and howled immortal chants for our team India. Didnt bother, if I was in the stadium, @ home or on the road watching a match from outside a TV Showroom. I love cricket and our cricketers as much as we all do.

As for the above post, for me this is humour, pure and simple humour. Which is all a part of my love towards cricket. Dont think I have made our cricketers feel humiliated or mortified with this post even after the poor show at World Cup. But if they do feel so, its probably only to get the better out of them.

Yes World Cup is not everything. But it seems to be so when our dear crickets boast and brag in television commercials they earn lakhs out of. I believe, I and anybody else has an unquestionable right to put across our disappointment with some sense of humour to it.

Oye Aseem… dil pe mat le yaar hath pe le…jaane bhi de.

Well, liked the attitude of Chappell… said “Resignation is out of the question” (or thereabouts), makes sense to me. I think we Indians call for foreign coaches as a fallback measure (fall guy would be more appropriate)… if things go fine well we all enjoy… if not then we know whose ass to kick.

BTW, what the hell is a character like Sharad Pawar doing as a Presi of BCCI? I do not know if you saw “Muqabla” … a program similar to “Big Fight” on one of the news channels. They had this guy (forgot his name), an economic investigator for last 30 years or rather better half of his life and he said the following…

It seems ICC was registered as a non-profit organization in British Virgin Island with an investment of $1 and Malcolm Speed is the CEO and ICC accrued revenue of $20 billion till the year 2005.

Now, there’s another company (he didn’t take the name of it) also registered in British Virgin Islands and incidentally.. Malcolm Speed is the CEO and guess what… has a revenue of 20 billion dollars till 2005.

Spooky, if I may say so… not founded just an acquired knowledge…
