Here is the infamous head-butt that more than two-three billion people watched on their television sets where Zidane goes BANG on Materazzi.

This is what left the whole world wondering what made the cool-headed Zidane go so violent? What really did Materazzi say to Zidane? Definitely not ‘Chloromint Kyon Khaate hai?’ as most sms forwards envisage.

This is what a deaf lip reader interpreted for BBC:
“You’re the son of a terrorist whore”

Lip-reading Experts also had their interpretation to chip in and they put it this way:
Materazzi told Zidane to “calm down” before accusing him of being a “liar” and wished “an ugly death to you and your family”. This was followed by “Go f*** yourself”

While Zidane confirms that Materazzi uttered some “hard words” against his mother and sister.

Well I thought that the Italian footballer wanted Zidane’s shirt as he had held it for a while. This is how Materazzi explains himself. Haha :lol:

What remains a controversy still is the conduct of the ace Algerian born French footballer right in the finals of the World Cup which was also the last game of his career, which led him out of the game with a red card against his name. With an investigation team being set up, Zidane might as well lose his Golden Ball. It’s really sad to see such an ending to the football career of one of the best strikers around. Most believed that it was not the best thing to do just 7 minutes before the half time end and Zidane should have maintained his dignity that he had hard earned for soooo many years.

But I feel that there are a few things that are bigger than football. And one shouldn’t care even if it’s the world cup final! I am glad to see my football hero live upto his dignity and family values. Bravo Zidane… go again! And for Materazzi shame on you. :x

Now that I wont see him sprinting on the green fields, dodging opponents and striking those magical goals, what I will cherish for life is all my video collection of Zidane on field… And yea not to forget the head butt one… ;)

   Well,
   I think he should have controlled as they were just 5 mins from penalty shoot out. Being his last match he should have had more patience.. well he did. I personally think ” Zidane ” didn’t do it wrong. But with them in finals and so close to a win. It was surely a bad bad idea…

   I think Zidane has left us a good memory. Sure, he could be remembered like as a great player, but there were many great players and will be many more great players. Zidane has made a mark for him self as a guy that wont take crap fron anyone, and he beat the hell out of the loud mouth Italian for talking trash. I think Zidane is more of a hero for doing that and he has given us even more memories to talk about.

   Zizou says he did kep himself quiet once,twice, thrice n he cudn go on again cuz the last one was a horrendous comment which if he dint react 4 wud make it luk like zizou was aaffirming it…yup it did cost france d world cup in a way but i dont think zizou was wrong doin wat he did. He’s kept his cool several times, the comments shud have been really that bad for him to have reacted that way. Way to go zizou! U will always be cherished for wat u did for the sport and for being such a gentleman all these years. one incident cannot tarnish your image…hail Zidane!!

   Well .. we all wish zindane could have controlled his temper at the moment and should nt have ended his disinguished career this way. At the same time we all have to remember that we are sitting here with a cool head , thought over the situation for much time and making this judgement.and its much more easy for us to rationally judge the situation than zindane at the moment of anger.Being a gentleman player who is known to keep a cool head , it must have taken great deal provocation for him to act this way.It is hard to believe that he was unhappy with the game and had a fear of losing it , at a point when thegame was drawing towards penalty shootouts which is certainly not one of the strong departments of the italians.
   no matter if FIFA decides to take away the golden ball , he will continue to command the same respect has world over among the football fans and thats what matters the most.17 years of glory cannot be tarnished by a second of madness!

   i always thought zidane is this enigmatic genius.but after that incident i realised that hes a human as well…after that incident my admiration for zidane has increased..he knew what would be the result of the head-butt…but he went by his principles rather than the lure of a golden trophy.

   Very true friends… As I said there are a few things in life that are bigger than football. What he did was all to protect his and his family’s honour. And there should be no regrets after and over it.

   About what adarsh has to say, I truely believe the same. We have made him into a god, we have canonized him but above all he is a man, and a man is fragile and breakable. And with this gesture of his, however childish it may be regarded as, it brings forth a more human image of the hero. It only brings the icon closer to the people…

    i should be the last one to write about controlling temper……….but when its the question of a country then man,u have to learn to bottle up ur emotions……players like ZIDANE come across this kind of sledging and constant barrage of explectives quite frequently…..after being a veteran in this game,he should have been the last one to demonstrate such an action……..which broke hearts of millions of pppl……MR. ZIDANE have u heard of ANGER MANAGEMENT
